A Garden of Vintage Cabochons

If you've ever taken a peek in my little shop, Alyssabeths Vintage, you'll notice that I have a thing for vintage cabochons!  There is just something about these little works of art, and of course my favorites feature flowers, lots and lots of flowers!  Most of our vintage cabochons were crafted in West Germany and Japan between the 1940s and 1960s.

Vintage oval cabochons featuring highly detailed, oriental styled blue & dark pink flowers accented with gold, decals. Made in Japan sometime during the 1950s, with flat backs. You will receive 6 cabs (setting not included)

 

 

Shabby Chic Embellishments

I'm a Shabby Chic girl at heart, I adore anything vintage with a little bit of wear, patina, white wash and floral, and I used this style as my inspiration for most of my romantic and assemblage jewelry creations. 

I have so many sweet, chic vintage jewelry findings and crafting supplies to share with you in my new supply shop.  Looking at my stock, I see that I am defiantly addicted to cabochons of all sizes and types, but there is lots of aqua, pink and white! Most of my cabochons are vintage from West Germany or Japan from the 1940s to the 1960s. 

Vintage Hand Painted Flower Embossed Glass Cabochons Oval 13x8mm . Shabby Chic vintage white pressed glass oval cabochons with hand painted pink flowers on textured background. These are very old, and each have various stages on worn paint, which create a lovely time worn look. Each little cabochon measures 13x8mm, 4mm thick with flat backs. 

Retro Rose Pink & Gold Drizzle Oval Glass Cabochons . Shabby Chic, retro 1960’s pink glass decorated with matte gold drizzle. Vintage, West German oval glass cabochons, measuring 18mm x 13mm with flat backs.

Vintage Chic Aqua Blue Leaf Medallion Lucite Cabocohons 16x13mm . Shabby Chic 1950s vintage marbled aqua blue & white leaf medallion cabochons, with faceted navette center, each cab varies slightly. Cabochons measure 16mm x 13mm, 4mm thick with flat backs.

Art Deco Floral White & Gold Embossed Oval Cabochons . Shabby Chic vintage pressed glass art deco stylized flower oval cabochons are fashioned from opaque chalk white glass and hand antiqued in gold, with flat backs. These are unique and old, each piece varies in wear of the gold.

 

 

French Chic Treasury

This lovely treasury made it to the front page of Etsy and includes one of my gift tags!  What a nice thing to wake up to this morning!

Paris Chic Steampunk with Roses Gift Tags Handcrafted French Inspired Collage Gift Tags. These tags were fashioned using a collage that I created using various French and Vintage elements, including a pink bourbon rose with hand applied pink glitter, An ornate Victorian pocket watch, “Paris, Rue Lafayette, No. 35, all set on an aged tea stained background.

Flowers for Mother's Day

I cannot believe that this weekend is already Mother's Day!  Granted, mine is a little different because my step-kids of course spend the day with their mom, but they always call me and give me a wonderful gift.  My hubby is fabulous and always treats me with a great day, this year it's a Jazz Brunch and then the Mayfest Festival in Ft. Worth.

Claire Ivory Rose Collage Necklace Romantic collage pendant created with ivory rose cabochons, small vintage white leaves and tiny white daisies with seed bead centers set on an ornate antique brass Victorian style filigree. The pendant is hung from a hand wire necklace of faux ivory beads and Czech fire polished amber glass beads and antique brass chain with lobster clasp closure.

Claire Ivory Rose Earrings Elegant earrings handcrafted with lovely creamy ivory resin long stemmed rose cabochons with the look of antique hand carved real ivory, set on delicate antique brass filigree from which are suspended large vintage oval facetted channel set crystal clear plastic gem drops. Each earring is hung from a delicate antique brass French ear hook adorned with a small ivory faux pearl.

New Line of Gift Tags

Now I have completely taken over the formal dining room for my “hobby” as my husband is calling it. I suppose once I start actually making money instead of spending it on supplies then he might, just might start considering it my second job? Oh well, any how I love it and it keeps me sane and gives me joy!


So, now I’ve started delving into decorative collage gift tags and it’s so much fun. You should see my stash of glitter, I should take a picture. I so love glitter! And yes, I’ve already started on Halloween and Christmas tags. Eventually I will also be creating paper and glitter kits, along with some of my vintage buttons , ephemera and lace stash.
