My New Esty Vintage Jewelry Supply Shop is Open!

As you can imagine I have absolutely tons of vintage jewelry supplies, re-purposed and salvaged pieces stock piled for my own jewelry creations for my Jewelry Shop Alyssabeths.  And, well I do, I really do!!  (by the way my hubby doesn't know exactly how much so, let's just keep it between us girls).

Several months ago, for some crazy reason, decided to open a second shop selling mostly vintage, but always lovely and unique jewelry supplies - cameos, cabochons, brass set jewels and stones, and salvaged pieces, vintage and new brass components and filigree.  Since sometime before Christmas I've been having a great time finding treasures for my new shop Alyssabeths Vintage and as late last week opened the shop up!

Only a few items are listed so far, but there is so much more to come, so I hope if you are a jewelry designer, crafter, mix media artist or scrapbooker that you will stop by often!  Oh... and for my US customers there is flat shipping rate of only $2.50!  And as always, a little surprise will be included in each shipment.

Shabby French Chic Altered Art Bottle

Ok, so apparently I am really... terrible at time management lately.  I've been so busy trying to get the second shop up and running that I'm way behind on my blog and my Jewelry shop.  Hoping the time management thing will start getting a little better.

And to top it all off I managed in a flurry of photo deleting to delete all my step by step photos for this weeks craft tutorial, so I guess it's going to be more of a look what I made kind of post, lol.

But I will tell you that I started with a lovely, very old bottle that I purchased at a Flea Market for  .50, the patina is so wonderful. I brought the bottle home and soaked out all the dirt and grime.  I then adhered a tea stained paper doily to the front, accented it with some vintage with tassel fringe, and then a bit of old ecru lace.  Mod Podge par of the bottle and doily and sprinkled on clear iridescent fairy dust glitter.

The create the framed French woman I started off with an old rhinestone shoe buckle.  To cover up missing stones I created a little collage in one corner with layers of antique brass filigree and a tiny pink resin rose, the other corner I used an antique brass Fleur de lis charm with the loop snipped off.  The image of the French Fashion Plate was of course found on the Graphics Fairy - no surprise there.  Printed the image off on cream card stock, cut to fit into the rhinestone buckle (makes such a great frame) and Mod Podge both back and front for extra durability.

1920's Chifarobe Before and After !

I finally…… finished the 1920’s chifarobe for Alyssa’s room. I’ve had this piece of furniture since I was in my 20’s, so that is a very long time in deed. Until I started getting it ready to paint I didn’t realize how bad a shape it was in. I had to re-build a couple of drawers, some of the side veneer had become a massive bubble that I ended-up having to cut-out and fill in with wood putty, etc. I attached the same furniture appliqué as I did to the vanity to tie the two pieces together, painted the chifarobe the same creamy white and attached more of the hand painted glossy pulls.  All in all I think the ol” girl turned out pretty well, even if it did take me a month!

Shabby White with Black Ticking Stripes Wicker Table

Ok, I'm finally getting a little closer in getting all.... of the furniture painted for Alyssa's room! YEAH!! I had before photos and must have deleted them the other day in a frenzy to clean-up my computer files. Oh well, but I can tell you that it was a mess. Found this vintage wicker bedside table in a local Antique mall for a steal @ $25.00, it was painted a dingy cream with tons of gaudy gold spray paint accents. My daughter hated it when I brought it home. Now look, white spray paint, black spray paint on the metal corners, lovely black and white ticking stripe fabric under the glass and one vintage clear glass cabinet knob and we have a little gem. It looks so cute in her room!!
