Shabby Chic, sort of, mantle re-do

Ok, so I adore anything Shabby Chic, my husband though is really not at all into the style.  So, I sneak a little bit of chic into our décor where I can.  Right now I am working on our front den mantle , which has looked pretty drab for quite some time.  I want to bring in some ivory and black pieces to coordinate with my Waverly pillows.  I have been searching forever for the perfect vase, I am either way to picky or to frugal and haven’t found “it”.  Instead I decided to create my own vase from a galvanized French flower pail that I’ve had for years.  Spray painted it white and then a bit of cream, in gloss.  Hand painted the black stripes, then went to one of my favorite websites - The Graphics Fairy for some great vintage chic graphics.  I used one of my favorite frames, a Fleur de lis and then a French music sheet to create a beautiful collage that workd perfectly !  Printed this out on card stock and decoupaged onto the French  flower pail.  I think it turned out just great.
