Shabby French Chic Altered Art Bottle

Ok, so apparently I am really... terrible at time management lately.  I've been so busy trying to get the second shop up and running that I'm way behind on my blog and my Jewelry shop.  Hoping the time management thing will start getting a little better.

And to top it all off I managed in a flurry of photo deleting to delete all my step by step photos for this weeks craft tutorial, so I guess it's going to be more of a look what I made kind of post, lol.

But I will tell you that I started with a lovely, very old bottle that I purchased at a Flea Market for  .50, the patina is so wonderful. I brought the bottle home and soaked out all the dirt and grime.  I then adhered a tea stained paper doily to the front, accented it with some vintage with tassel fringe, and then a bit of old ecru lace.  Mod Podge par of the bottle and doily and sprinkled on clear iridescent fairy dust glitter.

The create the framed French woman I started off with an old rhinestone shoe buckle.  To cover up missing stones I created a little collage in one corner with layers of antique brass filigree and a tiny pink resin rose, the other corner I used an antique brass Fleur de lis charm with the loop snipped off.  The image of the French Fashion Plate was of course found on the Graphics Fairy - no surprise there.  Printed the image off on cream card stock, cut to fit into the rhinestone buckle (makes such a great frame) and Mod Podge both back and front for extra durability.

Etsy Love - Have a Glittery Halloween

Ok, so as you've noticed I love Halloween and all the decorations.  I also adore, and not just a little bit, glitter !  I would glitter my cat is she would sit still long enough, lol.


So this morning I've been shopping and hearting all kinds of wonderful glittered Halloween decor and more on Etsy.  Here are a few of my favorite finds today!


Icing on the Cake Studio, has the most adorable boxes covered in glitter.  Here's her precious Halloween Cupcake Box covered in vintage type papers and trim and complete with a black rose.

Jennifer Arndt creates the most wonderful little houses and other holiday treasures using vintage treasures.  I'm thinking that this adorable little glittered Halloween house would be perfect on my mantle, the detail in this piece is so fun with the owl, black cat & crow.

This fun artist, Sleepy Hollow Folk Art is a fellow Texan ya'll !  She is a wonderful mixed media artist, with wonderfully whimsical sculptures. Her Shabby Shriek Jack O'Lantern Wand is so fun, it's prim and glam all at the same time!

Canadian artist Avant Carde creates exquisite vintage inspired paper and fabric collage creations.  Her Decorative Witch Hat is over the top fun with layers of lace, vintage ephemera, ribbons, roses and of course glitter!

Lovely Lockets

I have always had an affinity for vintage lockets and the memories that they held for the previous owner.  So.. I have been creating a few future vintage lockets waiting for your memories.  Here are a few from my Esty Shop.

Lovely Victorian inspired necklace featuring a Carnelian cameo, pearls, rhinestones & lace. The necklace is crafted with ivory pearls, iridescent rhinestone brass set spacers and champagne lace ribbon accented with an embossed bras oval locket set with a small vintage carnelian & ivory female silhouette cameo surrounded by clear rhinestones.

Paris Chic Altered Art Crown & Rhinestones Locket

Chic Locket adorned with a resin cabochon featuring a French royal crown, pink & red roses & a tiny butterfly, circled with clear Swarovski rhinestones. Locket is suspended from a rhinestone adorned brass bow and hung from an antique brass chain. This glamorous brass locket measures 32mm This is a one of a kind statement necklace created with a resin collage cabochon of my own creation.

Vintage style, chic petite antique brass locket adorned with a pastel pink rose cabochon which is surrounded by sparkly pink rhinestones, suspended from a larger pink rhinestone drop. The locket pendant and rhinestone drop are hung from a delicate antique brass chain which is 20” in length. The locket measures a little over ¾” across.

Front Page News

I woke up to such a nice surprise yesterday morning, a treasury featuring one of my bracelets Vintage Style Brass Bird Bead Assemblage Bracelet had made it to the front page of Etsy!  Of course this is due to the wonderful Etsy shop Hill Top Cottage who curated this wonderful treasury!

My favorite time of year is just around the corner !

My favorite time of year is Fall, everything about it puts me in a great mood. The cooler weather, the colors, and the smells!  Baking is so much better in the Fall for some reason and I'm already starving for pumpkin bread. I know it is still August, but a girl can dream, right?

French Chic Moth & Crown Postcard Gift Tags Elegant, handcrafted French Chic Gift Tags with Vintage Moth, Crown & Filigree set on antique postcard. Collage was created using vintage images of a colorful moth in orange and blue, set on a sage green filigree pattern, set on an antique postcard that I have further accented with an ornate crown and filigree, both adorned with hand applied pewter glitter.

Very Pink and Rosie Re-Purposing Project

Well, you'll never know what you might find at Goodwill! Latest find is a vintage kitchen spice rack, with the spice bottles. So I brought it home, cleaned it up and it sat around for a while. Until I noticed the number of perfume bottles my teenage daughter was accumulating. Now I finally had a purpose for the little spice rack, a perfume rack! I painted it baby pink and then went nuts painting pinks roses and gold accents all over it. It turned out so... pink and Shabby Chic. At just bout the same time it was complete and ready to use she informed me she no longer likes pink and we are now redecorating her room in black and white. Go figure! lol
