Shabby Chic Easter Decor

I know, I know I might be a bit early for Easter and I'm totally bypassing St. Patrick's Day. But... I just adore the Easter season and the Spring fresh decor.

I love pastel colors, but at my house pastel colors really don't fit in most of the rooms.  So, I kind of decorate with a more tattered shabby chic theme and need new decor items.  You know that means, yep.... it's time to shop !  yay!

As always I want something unique and handcrafted, and with my craze schedule I don't have the time or patience for craft shows, so my go to place is always Etsy.

For my back den I'm looking for primitive, teas stained items and fell in love with these Primitive Folk Art Bunnies from Old World Primitives.

or.... what about these totally cute little Chubby Baby Chicks from Harvestmoon Prims?
I'm thinking for over the fireplace and to place over a really great 1800's mirror I'm thinking a book page or burlap wreath.

Love..... this Coffee Filter Paper Wreath I found over at The Salvaged Whimsy.
I could make one, but wow that is a lot.. of coffee filters!  And it's looks like she has the craft down pat, so it would be so much better than what I could make.

Ok, I'm totally loving the little banner adorning this Burlap Wreath from atcompanyb.  I bet she would would make one that says Easter instead of Cheers.

So, all I have to do know is actually make up my mind, which is not easy at all.

Chic Moss Flower Pot with Nest Tutorial

Hey girls, well I'm sort of back to crafting. I'm so busy shopping and hunting down items for my upcoming vintage jewelry shop that it's pretty much taken over all my free time, plus the weather is not cooperating with several furniture re-vamps that I have planned.

I've seen several moss covered clay pots at several high dollar home decor stores lately, and being frugal (cheap) I was not going to pay the price.  So what did I find at the Dollar Tree, yep a roll of 1" moss on web backing, how awesome is that!

Supplies:
Moss
Clay Pot - I had on my potting bench
Nest with eggs - purchased at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 price
Paint - to age the pot
Tea Stained Paper Tag - easy to make
Bird Stamp
Wire or String - I already had the rusty wire

I sponged dark brown, moss green and white paint to the lip of the clay pot to age it.  Just work with the paint until you get the look you are going for.  Let this dry before starting to adhere the moss.

Now unroll your moss, because of the shape of the pot I ended up cutting it up a bit to fit on the tilt of the little pot and used a glue gun to glue it down.  You might need to fill in some gaps with bits of loose moss.

Now that this is all done you can glue in your nest with plastic speckled eggs.

And for the finishing touch I added a tea stained, bird stamped tag tied on with a rusty wire.  I think the total cost of this little craft project for me was only about $4.00 since I had so many of the items already.  I think Pottery Barn would be proud, lol.

Valentine's Day !!

We are getting ready for the next holiday at the Bailey household, Valentine’s Day!  This was one of my father’s favorite holidays, unlike most men my father looked forward to this holiday and thought out each gift carefully and with meaning.  My father was a very romantic and loving husband and father!  So, with a happy heart full of wonderful memories of my father I’ve been creating little gifts of love for friends and family, along with a few pieces that I will be selling in my Etsy store!

Set on top of the lovely rose is a heart adorned with Pink Vintage German Glass Glitter and a little pink tinted Je t' Aime banner stamped on linen card stock. This lovely piece hangs from a pink silky seam binding ribbon. This is a one of a kind piece

Rose of My Heart Necklace - Beautiful statement necklace, the heart pendant was created with a bright red Lucite heart, a pink and white rose bouquet cabochon, white milk glass beads and vintage copper bead cap, attached to a lovely and simply antique brass chain by an adorable little oxidized brass bow.  Total necklace length is 24” including heart pendant, but is adjustable to shorter lengths.
